Interactive Reading Aloud

Interactive Reading Aloud module is developed for the young children from the age of 9 months to 6 years. Their brain development is speedy and this phase of learning is extremely important for their overall growth. As these children are with parents and pre-primary or Anganwadi school teachers for most of the time, the trainees for this module is a group of parents and nursery teachers.

We fail to take the children so young very seriously and rarely treat them as an individual entity. Usually, they are objects of our love, care, responsibility and entertainment.

We train parents and pre-primary teachers to communicate with young ones and to step down to their level of understanding. It involves reading aloud a story repetitively and explaining the child, the scenario in the story with the pictures and experiences present in their immediate environment.

It develops the cognitive abilities of the child at the right time along with establishing a strong bond between children and parents.

Philosophy for Children (P4C)

Philosophy for Children(P4C) is our flagship module. A group of children, above 6 years of age, are covered under this programme. This module is conducted in a school, for an hour per week.

In this process, a story / activity / poem is used as a stimulus. The facilitator then involves the group, by asking open questions based on the story. The ground rules are established for a respectful dialogue.

In the discussion children start thinking and relating ideas and concepts to their own life situations. The deeper thinking opens pandora’s box. They start observing the surrounding environment with inquisitiveness, keeping in mind the ‘thought for the week’ arrived at, in the session. They enjoy this homework and bring their own solutions and few doubts, to the next session. The spiral goes deeper with each session touching different aspects of their life.

Children become self-aware about their thoughts, actions, learn to manage their emotions and start questioning the beliefs in every respect. This journey makes them capable of taking decisions in a thoughtful way. They, now will not follow others blindly and may question redundant norms.

Philosophy for Community

Philosophy for Community is a similar module as P4C for all others. As we grow up, acquire educational accomplishments and settle in the work environment, we take up a ‘know all’ attitude. Individual and societal growth requires to plough the common beliefs and rigidity of norms, to make it airy. Adults of various age groups and professionals may develop a habit of reviewing their roles, ways and thoughts by involving in these sessions, on a regular basis.

We conduct these sessions with different companies and residential societies to help the participants revisit their thinking process and adopt healthy thinking habits. The deeper thinking on various aspects of life may lead to reduce stress. Participants involved in the programme will become sensible citizens, considerate parents and responsible employees.
